Welcome to the Friday Night Follies

Gentleman,

It’s that time of the year again – Friday Night Follies. The Wellshire Men’s Club Pre-Member Guest Event. Based on the success of last year’s event, we are once again having a horserace. There will be some slight changes this year so, keep reading.

When – Friday Night, June 23, 2023 starting at 6:30 PM – Meet at the Pub by 6 PM – 6:15 on the putting green for a quick rundown of the event and introduction to your flight referee.

Format – 2-man teams with alternate shot. Each player from the team will tee off. Players will select their chosen/preferred drive. From there, the players whose drive was NOT selected will begin the alternate shot process all the way until the ball is holed.

Flights – We are anticipating there being 3 Flights and flights formed via team handicap

C – Flight – Tees off #1 and plays holes 1-3

B – Flight – Tees off #3 and plays holes 3 -5

A – Flight – Tees off #5 and plays holes 5 – 7

Championship hole is #8 (one team per flight participating) – Ties = plays hole 9 – Tie Breaker = Chip off on the 9th hole. See below

Elimination Process – We will slowly eliminate. 1- team on the first hole. 2 teams on the second hole, remaining teams on the third hole with one flight championship team. Championship team proceeds to hole 8.

First 3 holes that result in a tie – Ties will be broken with a blind chip off. Referee chooses chip off location. Team chooses a player to chip. Closest to the pin wins the chip off.

Price - $30 a player or $60 per team – Includes green fee, cart and pot (the cash kind, not smokable kind)

MEMBERS - YOUR GUEST CAN NOT REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT ON HIS OWN. MEMBER MUST REGISTER

Changes this Year –

Each player will tee off, THEN move to alternate shot.
Players do NOT need to be paired with their Member Guest partner. Please let us know if you want to play but your partner is unavailable and we will pair to the best of our abilities.
