Welcome to the 2023 Season Long Best Ball Registration

Hello Wellshire Men's Club,

The Season Long Best Ball (SLBB) tournament is a stroke play competition that lasts all year, scoring each individual’s best score on each hole during SLBB eligible tournaments at Wellshire. During the 2023 season, there will be 12 rounds that will count towards SLBB scoring. The SLBB eligible/applicable tournaments will be reflected on the season schedule. Located next to the individual tournament name, note that you will see "SLBB." The SLBB note signifies tournaments that will count toward your SLBB score.

Eligible tournaments include individual stroke play and best ball events where the player finishes the hole (i.e. no ball pick up, no gimme's). Scores in Match Play, the Denver Cup, Away tournaments, Scrambles, Ryder Cup and Scotch events will not be used to tabulate your tournament season gross or net best ball score.

Members may compete in the Gross, Net or both. If a player competes in SLBB eligible tournaments from multiple tee boxes (Bronze & Gold) during the season, no adjustments will be made to their score.

Once a member has entered the SLBB tournament, their individual season best gross or net score on each hole during future eligible Club tournaments will be tracked and tabulated to determine their tournament season gross or net best ball score. Past scores in tournaments played before signing up will not be counted towards a member’s SLBB score, so sign up early.

Entering in the Gross competition is $42 and Net $37.  This will also enter you into the Skins pots automatically.  You also have the option to play both gross and net for $79.

Prize money will be awarded at the end of the 2022 season to appropriately 25% of the field for gross and net divisions.

New Club Members - We strongly encourage you to consider registering for the Season Long Best Ball. Frequently new members will pass so to get a feel for the club their first year which is fine but a little tip... The 2020 Seasons winner of SLBB was a first-year member. Additionally, the SLBB event has a tendency to make the end of the season more exciting. Think of it as the Fed Ex Cup on the PGA Tour. It's a race to the finish of the season regarding who can post birdies or whatever score is needed to lower their score on certain holes. SLBB adds a new element to our format and sort adds a second tournament within a tournament and just one more reason to improve your game and play more. Don't get left out and just remember, you can't win if you don't play.
